Lanark County OPP Detachment Weekly News for Week of March 26 – April 2nd, 2018

LANARK COUNTY – Between Monday March 26, 2018 and Monday April 2, 2018 officers from the Lanark Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 354 calls for service.

The calls included:

Motor Vehicle Collisions.

Single Motor Vehicle off Road (“In Ditch”)       4

Impaired Drivers.

At 4:28pm on Monday March 26 officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Drummond Concession 1 near the intersection with Burns road in Drummond North Elmsley Township.

On arrival the officers found a severely damaged, Chevrolet passenger vehicle off road in a field. The vehicle was unattended. Officers located the driver nearby.

Gary RUCH (55 years) of the Town of Perth is charged:

One (1) Count                 Drive Motor Vehicle with More than 80mgs Alcohol per 100mls of Blood Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

At 7:00pm on Monday March 26 officers responded to reports of a Pontiac passenger vehicle being driven in the Village of Lanark by a male who may have been impaired.

At 7:14pm officers located the vehicle on Bathurst 6th Concession in Tay Valley Township.

Warren SMITH (62 years) of the Town of Perth is charged:

One (1) Count                 Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with More than 80mgs Alcohol per 100mls of Blood

One (1) Count                  Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle While Impaired by Alcohol  Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

At 7:20pm on Wednesday March 29 officers responded to a report of a Hyundai passenger vehicle at a gas station in the Town of Perth. The vehicle was damaged and the female driver appeared to be impaired.

At 7:28pm the officers found the vehicle at the gas station. The vehicle had damage to the body work and a wheel.

June DAVIS (58 years) of the City of Ottawa is charged:

One (1) Count                 Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with More than 80mgs Alcohol per 100mls of Blood

             One (1) Count                 Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle While Impaired by Alcohol  Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

She was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

Domestic Incidents

Officers dealt with 11 incidents involving custody, communication and property disputes.
