Lanark County OPP Detachment Weekly News for Week of Jan 8th – 15th, 2018

LANARK COUNTY – Between Monday, January 8, 2018, and Monday, January 15, 2018, officers from the Lanark Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 303 calls for service.

The calls included:

Motor Vehicle Collisions.

Single Motor Vehicle off Road (“In Ditch”)        7

At 1:02 am on Thursday, January 11 officers responded to a single Motorized Snow Vehicle (MSV) collision on the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) trail in the Municipality of Mississippi Mills.

Investigation revealed that Artic Cat MSV had struck a tree and the driver, a twenty-five (25) year old man from Central Frontenac Township had sustained major injuries.

OPP, Lanark County Ambulance Service, and Mississippi Mills Fire Service accessed the scene, which was approximately one kilometer south of Timmins Road, by four-wheel drive vehicle.

The injured driver was taken by sled system to the nearest road and then conveyed to Hospital in Ottawa.

Domestic Incidents

At 11:55 am on Thursday, January 11, a woman attended the Carleton Place Detachment and reported an incident earlier that day on Highway 7 in the Township of Lanark Highlands.

As a result of the subsequent investigation, a nineteen (19) year old male from the Township of Lanark Highlands is charged:

Two (2) Counts             Assault

Two (2) Counts            Mischief (Under $5,000)

Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

At 1:1:36 pm Thursday January 11, officers were called to a residence on Victoria Street in the Municipality of Mississippi Mills.

As a result of the subsequent investigation a twenty nine (29) year old man from the Municipality is charged:

One (1) Count             Assault

Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

Officers dealt with twelve other incidents involving property disputes and unwanted communication.
