Lanark County OPP Detachment Reports for Week of May 7th – 15th, 2018

LANARK COUNTY – Between Monday May 7, 2018 and Monday May14, 2018 officers from the Lanark Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 451calls for service.

The calls included:

Motor Vehicle Collisions.

 Total.                     29                 Including.

Single Motor Vehicle off Road (“In Ditch”)     7

Impaired Drivers.

At 11:20 pm on Tuesday, May 8 officers patrolling County Road 29 in the Municipality of Mississippi Mills saw a Hyundai passenger vehicle traveling north at a speed in excess of the posted 80 kilometers per hour speed limit. When the officers turned around and followed the Hyundai the vehicle accelerated to a speed of 149kph before stopping.

Walter TATE (65 years) of the City of Newcastle is charged:

One (1) Count               Drive Motor Vehicle with More than 80mgs of Alcohol per 100 mls of Blood  Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

One (1) Count               Race Motor Vehicle – Excessive Speed Contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

He was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth

At 2:45 am on Saturday, May, 12 officers patrolling the Town of Carleton Place saw a Dodge pickup truck driving erratically on Bridge Street and Allen Street.

Talor BUTTERWORTH (27 years) of Drummond North Elmsley Township is charged:

One (1) Count               Drive  Motor Vehicle with More than 80mgs of Alcohol per 100 mls of Blood  Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

Domestic Incidents

At 10:00pm on Thursday, May 10 officers were called to a residence on Old Brooke Road in Tay Valley Township. As a result of the subsequent investigation a forty seven (47) year old man from Tay Valley Township is charged:

One (1) Count              Utter Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm.

One (1) Count              Assault

Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth

At 2:06am on Saturday M,ay 12 officers were called to a disturbance at the Beer Store Lot on Wilson Street west in the Town of Perth. As a result of the subsequent investigation a thirty five (35) year old man from the Town of Perth is charged:

One (1) Count Assault Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

Officers dealt with thirteen (13) other calls relating to disputes about property, communication or child custody.
