Lanark County OPP Detachment News for Week of May 14 – 21st, 2018

LANARK COUNTY – Between Monday May 14, 2018 and Monday May 21, 2018       officers from the Lanark Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 448 calls for service.

The calls included:

Motor Vehicle Collisions.

Single Motor Vehicle off Road (“In Ditch”)      1

Impaired Drivers.

At 5:00pm on Wednesday May 16 officers responded to reports of two All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) driving erratically in the Town of Perth.

The ATVs were found in the Perth Mews Mall on Dufferin Street. The two riders were located leaving the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO).

Briar CARISSE (24 years) of Drummond North Elmsley Township is charged

One (1) Count               Drive Motor Vehicle with More than 80mgs of Alcohol per 100mls of Blood Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

She was also charged:

One (1) Count               Unlawfully Drive Of Road Vehicle (ORV) on Highway.

One (1) Count               No ORV Permit

One (1) Count               Not Properly Insured

Contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

She was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

At 8:48pm on Friday May 18 an officer on patrol in the Township of Lanark Highlands saw a Chevrolet passenger vehicle traveling southbound on Hwy 511 with both passenger wheels on the gravel shoulder. The vehicle was seen to make a turn onto Ferguson Falls Lane and cross into the oncoming traffic lane.

Alexis MASSEY (21 years) of the Township of Lanark Highlands is charged:

One (1) Count               Drive Motor Vehicle While Impaired by Alcohol.                      

One (1) Count               Drive Motor Vehicle with More than 80mgs of Alcohol per 100mls of Blood Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

Domestic Incidents

At 8:42am on Monday May 14 officers received a complaint from a person attending the Carleton Place OPP Office. As a result of the subsequent investigation a forty five (45) year old woman from the Town of Carleton Place is charged:

One (1) Count Assault Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

She was released to appear at the Provincial court in the Town of Perth.

Officers dealt with 4 other incidents relating to property and communication disputes.
