Lanark Country OPP Weekly News for Week of Oct 23rd to 30th, 2017

LANARK COUNTY – Between Monday October 23, 2017 and Monday October 30, 2017 officers from the Lanark Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 411calls for service.

The calls included:

Motor Vehicle Collisions.

 Total                          33.  Including:

Car / Deer                    5.       Car/ Porcupine  1

Parking Lots                11

Single Motor Vehicle Off Road (In Ditch)   7                    

Impaired Drivers.

 At 2:23am on Wednesday October 25 officers were called to a vehicle in the ditch on Burns Road in Drummond North Elmsley Township.

Investigation revealed that a south bound Chevrolet passenger vehicle left the highway and rolled over and came to rest on its roof.

Bryce STORIE (20 years) of Drummond North Elmsley Township is charged:

One (1) Count                  Driving While Ability Impaired.

One (1) Count                 Operate a Motor Vehicle with More than 80mgs of Alcohol per  100mls of Blood

Both charges are contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

At 11:34am on Saturday October 29, 2017 officer paroling Highway 7 in Tay Valley Township stopped a west bound Mercedes passenger vehicle.

Sarah ST JEAN (42 years) of the City of Ottawa is charged:

One (1) Count                  Fail or Refuse to Provide Sample of Breath

Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

One (1) Count                   Drive Motor Vehicle No Currently Validated Permit

Contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

She was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

Domestic Incidents

 At 8:17am on Wednesday October 25 officers were called to a residence on Mill Street, Almonte in the Municipality of Mississippi Mills.

As a result of investigation a forty eight (48) year old man from Almonte is charged:

One (1) Count                  Criminal Harassment

Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

At 11:09pm on Saturday October 28 officers were called to Bridge Street in the Town of Carleton Place.

As a result of investigation a thirty (30) year old man from the Town of Carleton Place is charged:

One (1) Count                  Mischief Under $5000.

One (1) Count                  Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm

Both charges are contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He was released to appear at the Provincial court in the Town of Perth.

Officers dealt with ten other calls relating to property, communication and child custody.
