IMPAIRED DRIVERS CHARGED

LEEDS –  Officers of the Leeds County Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are continuing investigations into incidents involving impaired drivers.

On March 9, 2019 at about 9:30 p.m. Rideau Lakes OPP officers stopped a man for a traffic related offence on Highway 15. After an investigation the driver was arrested for driving with More Than 80 Mgs of Alcohol in his Blood. 25 year old Matthew FULFORD of Rideau Lakes Township, is scheduled to appear at the Brockville Court of Justice on March 29, 2019 to answer to his charge.

On March 10, 2019, at about 1:30 p.m. OPP officers arrested the driver of a vehicle after he was involved in a collision on Eden Grove Road in Leeds and the Thousand Islands Township. 26 year old John VANWEERT of the same township was charged with Driving with More Than 80 Mgs of Alcohol in his Blood. He is scheduled to appear at the Brockville Court of Justice on March 29, 2019 to answer to his charge.

Drivers found their vehicles towed and impounded.
