LEEDS – Officers of the Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police are continuing an investigation involving an impaired driver in a collision.
On the 5th of June 2017 at about 6:50 PM O.P.P officers were advised of a collision at the intersection of Harlem Road and Portland Road, in Rideau Lakes Township. Investigation revealed that the driver, who was operating a motorcycle, left the roadway into the ditch. After further investigation the driver was arrested for Having More Than 80 Mgs of Alcohol in His Blood While Operating a Motor Vehicle, Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
34 year old Christopher TOWNSEND of Rideau Lakes Township has an upcoming court appearance scheduled for the 14th of July 2017 at the Ontario Court of Justice, Provincial Division in Brockville.
The driver also faces charges under the Provincial Offences Act for driving while under suspension, driving without insurance and charges for improper use of his licence plates.
