LEEDS – Officers of the Leeds Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police are continuing an investigation into a driver stopped at a R.I.D.E check with illegal drugs.
On the 27th of February 2017 at about 3:45 PM O.P.P officers were conducting a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) check on Jessie Street in Lyn, Ontario. Officers arrested a lone male driver and charged him after an investigation with being in Possession of Cannabis Marihuana and Resin. A 23 year old man from Frankville, Ontario is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, Provincial Division in Brockville on 31 of March 2017 to answer to his charge.
During the same R.I.D.E check at the same location a suspended driver was located and as a result of the investigation a 34 year old Lyn man has a scheduled appearance in Provincial Offences Court in Brockville to answer to his charge.
The OPP are reminding motorists that RIDE checks, and traffic enforcement will continue to be a focus at any time or location within Leeds County.
