Gananoque Police Service News Briefs for April 9th, 2017

Ganaoque – On March 29th, 2017 the Gananoque Police Service received a complaint of domestic assault.  Further investigation revealed the abuse had been occurring/ongoing over the past year and a half.

As a result, a 46 year old Gananoque man was charged with 5 counts of Domestic Assault, 4 counts of Domestic Mischief, Uttering Threats and Criminal Harassment. Officers were unable to locate the suspect and a warrant for his arrest was issued.

On March 31st, 2017 the male was arrested and held in custody pending a Show Cause Hearing.

April 9th, 2017

The Gananoque Police Service is seeking the assistance of the public regarding two mischief incidents which occurred during the late night and early morning hours of April 8th and 9th.

On April 9th at approximately 1 a.m., a report of a garbage can on fire near the intersection of King Street East and Charles Street.

A short time later it was discovered that the tires on a white Chevrolet SUV and the attached cargo trailer had all been slashed while the vehicle was parked in Oak Alley behind Moroni’s Restaurant.
