May 15, 2018

On May 15, 2018, at 8:45 PM officers with The Gananoque Police Service responded to a 911 call from a female victim who had fled to a payphone on King Street to contact police.  Subsequent investigation determined that the female had been walking when approached by her ex-husband.  The male was already on charges for previous domestic-related incidents with the same female, and currently out on bail conditions.  The 49-year-old male accused approached the female, and a verbal exchange ensued resulting in the male punching and physically dragging the female towards his house. The female victim was able to break free and contact police.  The male was located, arrested and charged with Assault and Failing to Comply with his previous bail conditions.  The male was transported to Brockville Court and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

May 17, 2018 

On May 17, 2018, at 11:00 PM officers with The Gananoque Police Service responded to a report of a domestic-related incident at a local motel.  Officers attended, and subsequent investigation revealed the accused and victim along with 2 young children were staying in the motel. A verbal dispute ensued resulting in the accused punching the female victim in the face, ripping the phone cord out of the wall and threatening the female victim.  Additional domestic assault incidents were also reported to police from previous dates. The male fled the area prior to police arrival.  The 27-year-old accused from Harrowsmith ON was later located in Kingston and arrested without incident.  He has been charged with Assault x 2, Mischief, Threats, and Obstruct.  The male accused was transported to Brockville Court and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

May 19, 2018

On May 19, 2018, at 7:00 PM officers with The Gananoque Police service responded to an apartment building regarding a male who had forced his way into a residence yelling and threatening the people, and damaging some items.  The male also assaulted one of the residents.  Officers attended and as a result, the male was located and identified.  The accused and the people of the residence that he attended were known to each other.  The 52-year-old Gananoque man was arrested and charged with Forcible Entry, Assault, Mischief, Utter Threats.  The male is scheduled to appear in Brockville court and answer to the charges at a later date.

May 20, 2018

On May 20, 2018, at 4:05 PM officers with the Gananoque Police Service located a 50-year-old Gananoque man who was currently released into the community on Statutory Release.  The male was on a weekend pass and serving a Federal Sentence.  The male failed to obey his parole conditions pertaining to residency and the non-consumption of alcohol.  The male was arrested and returned to a jail at the direction of The Federal Parole National Monitoring Centre.
