Gananoque – Gananoque Police Reports for June 10th, 2018.
On June 6th, 2018 the Gananoque Police received a complaint from a female victim of domestic violence. Further investigation revealed that a 49-year-old Gananoque man had been charged previously with domestic violence-related offences and accordingly, was placed on conditions not to communicate with or be around the victim. The victim reported to police that over a two-day period the male followed her from place to place and repeatedly attempted to communicate with the victim and in several instances, the male made a disturbance in public in his attempts.
After an investigation, a warrant was obtained to arrest the man for 3 counts of failing to comply with the conditions of his recognizance. On June 8th, 2018 the man was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
On April 24th, 2018 the Gananoque Police received a complaint regarding a 25-year-old male breaching release conditions prohibiting him from being around or communicating with a female victim of domestic violence. Following an investigation, a warrant was obtained to arrest the male for 2 counts of failing to comply with the conditions of his recognizance.
On June 8th, 2018 officers with the Gananoque Police located and arrested the male on the outstanding warrant. He was released from custody and will be appearing in court at a later date.
