Gananoque – Gananoque Police Reports for Jan 9th, 2019.

January 6th, 2019

The Gananoque Police were called to an east end gas bar to a report of occupants of a mini van having pumped gas and left without paying.  Officers attended and located the vehicle and occupants in an east end parking lot. The driver was investigated and found to be impaired by alcohol and drugs. All  three occupants were uncooperative with police and failed to identify themselves. Further investigation revealed stolen property within the vehicle.

All 3 individuals were arrested and returned to the Gananoque Police Service.  A 32-year-old Stittsville man was charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Driving while Suspended, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Theft under $5,000, Obstruct Police and one count of Failing to Comply with a condition of his Probation Order.  A 34-year-old Ottawa man was charged with Theft under $5,000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Obstructing Police.  A 21-year-old Ottawa female was charged with Theft under $5,000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Obstructing Police.  All three were held in custody pending a bail hearing.

January 9th, 2019

In the early morning hours of January 9th, the Gananoque Police were called to a Charles Street South residence to a report of an assault.  Officers attended and determined a male had been at the residence and was unwanted by the owner.  The suspect got into an altercation with a male victim.  The suspect punched the victim in the face causing minor injuries. The suspect left the scene before police arrived.

Officers patrolled the area, located the suspect and arrested him without incident.  A 42-year-old Gananoque man has been charged with one count of Assault and two counts of Failing to Comply with the conditions of his Undertaking.  He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
