Fight Leads to Weapons Charges

Town of Carleton Place – At 12:05pm on Monday 24th April 201, officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a disturbance call in the parking lot of the Carleton Place site of the TR Leger School.

Two female and two male youths were fighting.

One youth suffered minor injuries and was escorted to hospital and subsequently released.

A seventeen (17) year old male from the Municipality of Mississippi Mills was found to be in possession of “brass knuckles”. He is charged:

One (1) Count        Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.

One (1) Count         Possession of a Prohibited Device.

The young person was released, on conditions, to appear at the Youth Court of Criminal Justice in the Town of Perth.
