LEEDS – Officers of the Leeds Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police continue to investigate two collisions that resulted in the same driver being charged twice.
On November 9, 2017 at about 5:00 AM Leeds OPP officers were advised of a collision that occurred on County Road 2 in Front of Yonge Township. The damaged vehicle was towed after the driver lost control and went into a ditch.
That same morning OPP were advised of a suspicious person at a grocery store in Mallorytown. The same driver from the earlier collision was unsuccessfully trying to change his tire using a dolly for leverage. Assistance was offered along with a caution not to driver the vehicle as it was unsafe.
About 15 minutes later the driver was reported in a second collision, this time on Quabbin Road in the same township. The driver had now struck a stone wall. The vehicle was once again towed.
A 21 year old man from Addison faces two Careless Driving charges and a charge for Operating an Unsafe Vehicle.
The investigation continues.
