Criminal Charges Laid in Case of Fleeing Suspect Vehicle

Leeds – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are continuing an investigation into a vehicle that failed to stop for police.

On October 26, 2018 at about 11:45 PM patrolling members of the Leeds Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on County Road 2 at Lyn Road in Elizabethtown-Kitley Township. The driver, who refused to stop for police, continued to drive at speeds more than double the limit and in an erratic manner. The identified driver was later located.

20 year old Daniel MCCRACKEN of Elizabethtown-Kitley Township faces charges of Dangerous Driving, and Flight from Police, Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He has a scheduled appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice, Provincial Division in Brockville on November 23, 2018. He also faces charges under the Highway Traffic Act, including Stunt Driving.
