Collision leads to Impaired Driving Charges

Brockville – A 34-year-old Brockville woman is facing impaired driving charges this morning as a result of a collision early this morning at the intersection of Stewart Boulevard and Jefferson Drive.

At approximately 12:45 a.m. a Brockville Police officer was in the area of Stewart Boulevard and Jefferson Drive when he observed a black Ford stopped at the red light at Jefferson Drive. The woman operating her 2006 black Chevrolet rear-ended the stopped vehicle at the traffic light.  Occupants of the Ford were taken to Brockville General Hospital as a precaution for minor injuries and released.

Officers at the scene detected an odour of alcohol on the woman’s breath and noticed signs of impairment. As a result, she was arrested for impaired driving and conveyed to the Brockville Police Station where she provided breath samples of nearly three times the legal limit.

As a result, she was charged with impaired driving and driving with over 80 milligrams of alcohol and was released with a future court date.
