Charges Laid for Driver who Failed to Remain June 1st, 2019

PERTH – Charges have been laid as a result of an appeal to the public for assistance regarding a Fail to Remain collision which occurred on June 1, 2019 around 2:30 a.m. on Drummond Concession 7 in Drummond, North Elmsley Township where the vehicle in question struck a mailbox and a gate leaving the rear bumper at the location.

The initial release was put on social media June 11, 2019 and officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were contacted the same day with information regarding the heavily damaged vehicle’s whereabouts.

The subsequent investigation resulted in charges being laid under the Highway Traffic Act for Failure to Report an Accident, Failure to Remain and two counts of Failure to Report Damage against a 23 year old male resident of Drummond, North Elmsley Township.

The Lanark County OPP wishes to thank everyone who forwarded and responded to the social media releases which resulted in a very expedient conclusion to the matter.
