LEEDS – The Leeds Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to remind the public of the Canada Road Safety Week that will run from May 15 to May 21, 2018.
This is an enforcement-driven initiative designed to increase public compliance with safe driving measures and ultimately, to save lives on our highways.
This enforcement component targets impaired driving, lack of occupant restraint use (seatbelt use), aggressive driving and distracted driving.
We wish to remind every driver on Ontario roadways the importance of safe driving behavior in an effort to make Canada’s roads the safest in the world. It’s up to each and every driver on our roadways to pay attention to the laws and drive safely and make it to your destination.
As a reminder, in an event that you believe someone may be impaired behind the wheel, contact the Ontario Provincial Police by either dialing 1-888-310-1122, 911 or *677 (*OPP).
If possible make a note about the direction of travel, vehicle make, model, color and the vehicles license plate.
