LANARK COUNTY – Officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) actively participated in Canada Road Safety Week that concluded with the Victoria Day Long Weekend.
The officers were involved in community education and road safety promotion in addition to enforcement.
Four offences have been identified as the primary factors leading to collisions resulting in serious bodily harm or death on Ontario roads and highways. In regard to those offences Lanark County OPP laid the following charges:
Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
One Hundred and Thirty Three (133)
Al contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
Officers laid other charges in other incidents and collisions.
