Brockville – Brockville Police Reports for April 23rd, 2018.
A 36-year-old male was arrested Friday in relation to a $2100 theft at a local drug store. The theft which occurred on Wednesday the 18th of April was captured on the store’s security system. That footage was provided to police that led to the arrest of the male. He was released with a future court date to answer to that charge.
After releasing the male, police were made aware of 2 further theft incidents from north end stores. The male was located and was arrested for the second time that day.
The male is now facing 5 counts of breaching a probation order, 3 counts of theft under $5000 and possession of a controlled substance.
Police are investigating the theft of a 2017 Beta Model 300 dirt bike that occurred overnight of the 20th of April. The vehicle was taken from a residence in the center of the city and has an estimated value of $11,000.
A 30-year-old male is facing charges of weapons dangerous and assault after an incident Saturday night. The male was involved in some sort of altercation in a stairwell of a King St. apartment building and produced a knife in the process. No one was injured as a result of the knife being pulled.
On Monday morning at 2:00 am officers on a routine patrol officers observed vehicle parked beside a donation box on North Augusta at Broadway Ave. Officers noted that the vehicle was occupied. Due to the late hour and strange parking location officers stopped to investigate. The 31-year-old driver of the vehicle was identified and they discovered he had a warrant for his arrest. He was arrested without incident and released with a future court date.
