Brockville – On April 29th at 10:00pm, a local 43 year old male and a local 22 year old male were found by Brockville Police attempting to walk on a downtown street while intoxicated. The men were not able to stay up on their feet and police had to arrest both males to prevent them from injuring themselves as they were falling to the ground. Both men were released the next morning once sober and were fined under the Liquor Licence Act.
On April 30th at 4:00pm, a local 52 year old male was located passed out on a downtown bench. Officers were able to wake him up and noted that the male was so intoxicated he could not care for himself. The man was arrested for his safety and later released once sober.
On May 1st at 2:30am, a local 47 year old woman was pulled over after Brockville police was concerned about her ability to drive a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol. As a result, the woman was arrested and provided breath samples which were over the legal limit. She was later released with a future court appearance for impaired driving.
On May 1st at 3:20am, Brockville Police responded to a group of young males causing damage to a car and breaking a window in the downtown area. Police responded immediately and located the person responsible for the damage. A local 20 year old male was arrested for mischief. He was released with a future court appearance.
Brockville Police Service would like to continue to remind citizens about a growing concern of telephone scams. As tax season comes to an end, please be cautious when receiving phone calls from people claiming to be tax collectors.
