Brockville – A 24 year old Brockville man will be in court this morning facing a series of domestic related charges as a result of several dealings with police over the past month.
At approximately 8 p.m. last evening the Brockville Police received a call indicating the 28 year old female victim was at her residence with the door locked. There was banging on the door and eventually the door handle was broken off the door and the suspect fled. The caller suspected it was the 24 year old man that attended and called police to alert them out of concern for the woman’s safety.
While police were checking the area the man returned to the apartment and made his way inside. Officers arriving overheard the yelling inside the apartment and entered to ensure the safety of the woman.
Once inside they found the 24 year old man and placed him under arrest for domestic assault, and conveyed him to police headquarters.
While investigating the domestic disturbance last evening, officers also learned the man was wanted for an assault on July 7th involving the same victim and was also on probation for similar offences in the past. As a result he was taken into custody for assault, breaching his probation and mischief and held in custody for a bail hearing.
