Kingston – Dr. Paul Dungey, Regional Supervising Coroner for East Region, Kingston Office, today announced that the date for the inquest into the deaths of Denis Guerin and Angus Snow has been scheduled.
Mr. Guerin, 53, died on March 12, 2015 and Mr. Snow, 66, died on July 16, 2015 at the Joyceville Correctional Institution. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding these deaths. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
The inquest is expected to last three days and to hear from approximately nine witnesses.
The inquest will begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017, at the Napanee Superior Court, 97 Thomas Street East, Napanee. Dr. Robert Reddoch will preside as inquest coroner and Janet O’Brien will be counsel to the coroner.
