KINGSTON – The Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority (CRCA) has cancelled all Flood Warnings and Flood Watches for inland lakes today. A Watershed Conditions Statement – Water Safety is now in effect for all inland lakes and streams within the Cataraqui Region watersheds.
Water levels have continued to decline over the past week and lakes have now fallen to or below high spring levels. Despite the Flood Warning/Watch cancellation, the CRCA is urging residents to exercise caution around lakes and streams and to stay away from the cold, deep, fast flowing watercourses, as well as any dams.
Water managers continue to conduct operations to minimize the effects of the high-water levels and pass flows down through the system.
CRCA staff will continue to monitor conditions, forecasts, and update statements as needed.
This Watershed Conditions Statement – Water Safety will remain in effect until Monday May 29, 2017.
Flood Warning remains for Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River
