Come on a Bug Safari with the CRCA

Kingston – Marshes are teeming with all sorts of interesting plants and animals – including many different species of bugs.

Families are welcome to come out to the CRCA’s Bug Safari, on Sunday, Oct. 1, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area to see what sorts of insects make their homes in the marsh, why they live there and what role they play in this unique ecosystem. Participants will have a chance to use some of the same gear that our scientists use to catch and release the bugs. We do ensure that all our bug friends get put back gently in their homes.

The Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area is located on Division Street just two kilometres north of Highway 401. Entry fees are: $5.50 per person for adults and children over 12, and $3 per person for children 12 and under, to a maximum fee of $14 per car. Annual passes are available for $80 per year.

For more information about the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority, visit www.crca.ca or call (613) 546-4228 x 500 or toll free in the 613 region at 1-877-956-CRCA (2722).
