“YOUTH TO YOUTH BOARD DISTRIBUTES GRANTS TO LOCAL YOUTH PROGRAMS”

Brockville  – The United Way of Leeds & Grenville’s Youth to Youth Board is pleased to announce the successful recipients of the 2019 Y2Y Program Grants.

The Youth to Youth Board awards annual grants through a comprehensive application and allocation process. Youth leaders fundraise and carefully decide on where those funds will be invested to make the greatest positive impact on youth in our community. There were ten (10) worthy applications.

The 2019 Y2Y Program Grants recipients are: Township of Rideau Lakes-Rideau Lakes Action for Youth, Brockville
Public Library, Volunteer Centre of St. Lawrence Rideau and Every Kid in Our Community. Congratulations to all!

Please join us for the first two of our cheque presentations. On Tuesday May 14, 2019 at 4:30 p.m.,

Youth to Youth Board members will be at the Brockville Public Library to present a cheque, in the amount of $500, to support their LGBTQ+ Youth Drop-in program. The goal of this program is to provide local LGBTQ+ youth, friends, allies and supporters with a safe inclusive place for recreation, socialization, information and peer support.

On Wednesday May 15, 2019 at 4:30 p.m. Youth to Youth Board members will be at South Crosby Public School to present a cheque, in the amount of $500, in support of Rideau Lakes Action for Youth. This weekly after-school program offers rural youth the opportunity to take part in various recreational activities, where participants can learn about positive ways to deal with conflict and how to make positive decisions.
