People encouraged to buy tickets in advance to avoid disappointment
BROCKVILLE – With the 5th annual Island Breakfast to kick-off this week, the Committee of the Island Breakfast on Refugee Island is encouraging those interested in attending this year’s event to buy advance tickets so as not to be disappointed. Last year’s breakfast experienced a sellout.
This year, visitors will see the early beginnings of fund raising dollars at work – the footings and pad for the pavilion will be completed by next Wednesday.
“We have raised $35,000 since inception thanks to the tremendous support of sponsors and the community,” said Deb Hamilton, spokesperson for the Island Breakfast Committee.
Hamilton said she is hopeful the committee will sell out the event this year to keep up the project’s momentum.
Tickets are on sale at the Tourism Office on Market Street and are $12.00/adult, $10/seniors-students, $30/Family of 4.
The breakfast will run four (4) days starting next Wednesday, June 20th through to Saturday, June 23rd. Boat shuttles from St. Lawrence Park begin at 7:30 a.m. with breakfast starting at 8:00 a.m. Last return boats from the island are at 9:45.
In addition to having a wonderful breakfast, attendees can enjoy local entertainment and children’s activities by the Brockville Public Library as well as spectacular views of the St. Lawrence River.
