Brockville – Need a hand completing your income tax and benefit return? The Volunteer Centre of St. Lawrence-Rideau is once again hosting their Community Volunteer Income Tax Program around the region.If you are unable to complete your income tax and benefit return by yourself and are unable to pay for assistance, the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program may be for you.

Specially trained volunteers can help you complete your income tax and benefit return if your income is low and your tax situation is simple.

Volunteers do not complete income tax and benefit returns for deceased persons, bankrupt individuals, or individuals who have capital gains or losses, employment expenses, or business or rental income and expenses.

How do I know if I qualify?

Low Income Filers:

Individual: max. $30,000, Couple: max. $40,000, Individual with Dependent: max. $35,000

What do I need to bring in with me?

Please bring all of the following documents that you have to your appointment:

1. All tax forms and/or address labels received from Revenue Canada.

2. Your copy of last year’s Income Tax Return and Revenue Canada’s Notice of Assessment.

3. All “T”-slips received for your income (e.g. T4, T4A, T4A(P),T4A(OAS), T4E, T3, T5, etc).

4. Your T5007 form, received for: – Social Assistance – Worker’s Compensation – Disability Pensions

5. Last year’s rent receipts or Property Tax Bills.

6. All your medical receipts.

7. All your charitable donations receipts.
