Lyn – Come join us in the village of Lyn Friday September 8th and Saturday September 9th as we celebrate Canada 150.
The Celebrations begin with an evening Chicken BBQ on Friday September 8th from 4pm-6pm at Christ United Church, 12 Perth St. Lyn. Tickets are $15 and are available by calling 613-498-0827. Advance ticket sales only! Following the BBQ, family themed games will be running in and around the church.
Saturday events begin with a breakfast hosted by Burnbrae Farms at 7:30am also at Christ United Church. At Douglas Scott Memorial Park off of the Main Street an Antique Car show will be running from 10-3. Bouncy Castles and West Winds Ranch Petting Zoo will be on site as well to entertain the children. Antique Fire Fighter Equipment and informative 4-H Displays will be displayed in the park. The Lyn Village Store will host a small craft sale.
Lyn Heritage Place Museum will be open for tours from 10-4 pm. Local Artisans will be in attendance. The museum will be presenting the Lyn Citizen of the Year at 11:30 am.
The Lyn Conversation Area is the place to be from 1-4 pm for canoe and kayak races. Pre- register for these races at JJ’s Snack Shack, Main St. Lyn. Canoes and Kayaks will be provided by the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority. Life Jackets or PFD’s will be available or bring your own.
