Brockville – United Way Leeds & Grenville (UWLG) announced today that the annual campaign goal of $825,000 has been reached. The grand total raised will be released in the new year when all final donations are recorded.
The United Way will continue to accept donations over the holidays. Every dollar that is raised will go to help those in need in the Leeds & Grenville area. Tax receipts for the 2017 calendar year will be issued for all donations made up to Dec. 31, 2017.
The money raised by the campaign will start being distributed in the new year. United Way volunteers will carefully review funding applications and make recommendations to the United Way Board of Directors in the coming weeks.
“I am very proud of what our community was able to accomplish, and want people to know their donation makes a huge difference and that every dollar counts,” said Trish Buote, UWLG Executive Director.
“Generous donations have come in from both individuals and employees. The efforts of our workplace champions, volunteers, sponsors, Board and staff has been phenomenal. And last, but certainly not least, is our amazing Campaign Cabinet. We could not have done this without their insight, push and leadership in our community. Thank you to all from the bottom of my heart.”
