Brockville – As you may know, the Upper Canada District School Board is working to prepare for the need for students to learn from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Because much of this learning is likely to involve technology, we are reaching out to families to determine what their technology needs may be, if any, so that their children may be able to eventually participate in this learning.
The Upper Canada District School Board may be in a position to loan devices to a limited number of these families based on need and this information will be helpful in assisting us eventually get these resources in the hands of those that need them most.
If you do not have Internet access at home, or you feel you lack enough devices for your children to use, or you have children with a Board-provided device to support their special education programming, we are asking you to take a moment to complete this online survey – Technology Survey for UCDSB Families – or alternatively call 613-342-0435 (toll free 1-888-593-5556) to leave call back information so that we can contact you to determine your specific needs.
In the event that you think you have access to sufficient technology to support your children’s’ needs, we would encourage you to not fill out this survey at this time. If your situation changes, or you change your mind, there will be further opportunities to let us know in the future.
Over the coming days, we will review the information we gather and will be deciding how to proceed in light of ongoing direction from the Ontario Ministry of Education.
