Brockville – Thousand Islands Secondary School (TISS) will host their first Relay for Life on May 31st to raise money for cancer research.
The 12-hour relay, organized by student council, begins with a survivor walk at 10:50 a.m. followed by the official start of the relay at 11 a.m. Walkers pay $20 each to participate in 10-man teams. TISS is also hosting a spring carnival with a bouncy castle, dunk tank and other activities on site.
Students from elementary feeder schools will be invited to participate in a mini-relay between 4 and 5 p.m. Memorial candles, or “luminaries”, will be sold on site for $5 each or five for $20.
