St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation – 2020 Pleasure Craft Bulletin #3

MONTREAL / LAKE ONTARIO SECTION – Pleasure Craft Lockages at Iroquois Lock

To limit the potential health risk from COVID-19, the St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation is placing certain conditions on pleasure craft lockages. Users are asked to observe these conditions and follow the guidance of public health officials, including necessary hygiene practices and physical distancing of two meters.

1. Method of Payment
Pleasure craft users must purchase an e-ticket using Secunik (See Pleasure Craft Tolls at https://greatlakes-seaway.com).
To protect users and employees, cash will not be accepted and the automatic ticket dispensers at pleasure craft docks will not be available.

2. Pleasure Craft Lockage Availability
The timing of the pleasure craft lockages is dependent on commercial vessel traffic and availability of personnel.

3. Reporting in at Iroquois Lock and Pleasure Craft Dock
Users arriving at the pleasure craft dock are asked to report in by calling the lock officer on VHF Channel 68 (156.425MHz) or via cell phone at 613-330-2284. The lock officer will provide instructions to the pleasure craft.

When the lock is clear and ready for entry, the lock officer will provide the green light and instruct the pleasure craft to enter the lock via the Public Announcement (PA) system. Please follow the instructions of the lock officer.

Telephones located at the pleasure craft docks will not be available. Users are asked to remain in their boat at all times and refrain from grouped mooring.

4. In the Lock
To meet the physical distancing guidelines, no grouped mooring of pleasure craft will be permitted in the lock. Pleasure craft will be secured alongside the lock wall, positioned one after the other.
