Brockville – St. John Ambulance Leeds Grenville & Lanark branch held their 2018 Annual Awards Ceremony on Monday, June 25th at the Brockville Royal Canadian Legion branch #96.
The evening highlighted achievements and dedication to Leeds-Grenville & Lanark communities over the past year. Many special and volunteer achievement awards were given out to various members of the St. John Ambulance branch.
Awards given out last Monday evening included the Major Broadbent Memorial Award which went to Gloria Madden, Most Hours Award was awarded to Glen Deir and Best New Member, Alicia Gates.
As well, this reporter was very surprised and honoured to receive the Mark Daily Media Award on this night. The award named for the late Mark Dailey, was designed to complement the media efforts of the Branches by giving them an opportunity to recognize media outlets, or their representatives who have gone above and beyond to promote St. John Ambulance.
Mark Dailey, most famously known as “the voice” of CITY-TV, was a key contributor to the Public Awareness Task Force for the St. John Ambulance, Council for Ontario and helped create SJA Ontario’s ‘Heroes’ campaign and related collateral.
Guest speaker for the evening was the Accidental Farmwife, Diana Leeson Fisher.
