Belleville  – The South East Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) is pleased to announce the appointment of Hersh Sehdev as Chair of the South East LHIN Board of Directors, effective January 8, 2018.

Ms. Sehdev retired in 2017 as the Executive Director of Kingston Community Health Centres (KCHC), a position she held for 17 years. During her time at KCHC, she made a profound impact throughout the community, working tirelessly to help disadvantaged and marginalized citizens. Whether it was supporting the homeless, individuals living with mental health or addiction challenges, or individuals and families living on low income, Ms. Sehdev was always guided by her deep sense of compassion and worked towards reducing systemic barriers.

Prior to leading the multi-site, multi-service organization, she was the Program Director for South Riverdale Community Health Centre for 11 years. She was also the Executive Director of Riverdale Immigrant Women’s Centre, the Associate of Planning and Government Relations at the United Way of Greater Toronto, and a consultant commissioned by the Ministry of Citizenship to develop the Ontario Government publication Multiculturalism and Health Care.

A resident of Kingston, Ms. Sehdev’s community involvement includes Chairing the Mayor’s Committee on Poverty Reduction in Kingston and board member of the Social Planning Council of Metropolitan Toronto and Family Services Association of Metropolitan Toronto.

“We are pleased to welcome Hersh Sehdev to the South East LHIN Board. Her dedication to the community and past experiences will complement the Chair position very well, and we are confident her skills and knowledge will provide strong leadership to our local health care system.”

– Paul Huras, Chief Executive Officer, South East LHIN

“I accept the role of Chair, South East LHIN Board of Directors, with gratitude and honour. It is a privilege to work with dedicated Board members and accomplished CEO, Mr. Paul Huras. I look forward to contributing in ensuring our local health care system is equitable, accountable and sustainable.”
