Belleville – The South East Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) is pleased to announce the appointment of Hersh Sehdev as Chair of the South East LHIN Board of Directors, effective January 8, 2018.
Ms. Sehdev retired in 2017 as the Executive Director of Kingston Community Health Centres (KCHC), a position she held for 17 years. During her time at KCHC, she made a profound impact throughout the community, working tirelessly to help disadvantaged and marginalized citizens. Whether it was supporting the homeless, individuals living with mental health or addiction challenges, or individuals and families living on low income, Ms. Sehdev was always guided by her deep sense of compassion and worked towards reducing systemic barriers.
Prior to leading the multi-site, multi-service organization, she was the Program Director for South Riverdale Community Health Centre for 11 years. She was also the Executive Director of Riverdale Immigrant Women’s Centre, the Associate of Planning and Government Relations at the United Way of Greater Toronto, and a consultant commissioned by the Ministry of Citizenship to develop the Ontario Government publication Multiculturalism and Health Care.
A resident of Kingston, Ms. Sehdev’s community involvement includes Chairing the Mayor’s Committee on Poverty Reduction in Kingston and board member of the Social Planning Council of Metropolitan Toronto and Family Services Association of Metropolitan Toronto.

- The role of the South East LHIN Board of Directors is to oversee, govern and advise on the strategic direction and priorities of the LHIN.
- Board appointments are based on the applicant’s leadership skills, expertise and experience, and are accountable, through the Chair, to the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care for the LHIN’s use of public funds and its results in the local health system.
The Chair and Directors are appointed by an Order-In-Council, through a process administered by the Public Appointments Secretariat, for a term of up to three years and may be appointed for additional terms up to a six-year maximum.
