Johnstown – The Port of Johnstown will hold its 3rd Annual Port Day on Saturday, June 16, 2018, with a host of public activities to celebrate marine shipping’s important contribution to sustainable economic development in Eastern Ontario.
“This has become a popular event with more than 1000 people coming out each year to see the many ways a port benefits their lives,” says Port General Manager Robert Dalley. “This year we have partnered with Giant Tiger to put on Port Day. We’re proud to be working with this company, which has significantly invested in the economic success of Edwardsburgh/Cardinal with its new distribution centre in the business park across from the port.”
The free event, being held between10:30 am and 3 pm (doors open 10:00am), will also feature all-day tours of the CCGS Griffon (subject to operational requirements), the Port, public boardwalk, booths, and a draw for VIP access to the grain terminal. Attendees are invited to enjoy a free community BBQ, music by Sons of Gord, archery games hosted by the Grenville Fish and Game Club, the Giant Tiger Train, Touch A Truck, face painting, Tribeck Inflatables, prizes and much more.
