First Draw Set for February 22nd, 2017

Cardinal –  The Cardinal Legion launched its Chase the Ace Lottery Wednesday.  The fundraiser that has seen much popularity in other areas of the country has now landed in the village of Cardinal. The first draw will be held February 22nd, 2017.

In what could be best described as part 50-50 draw, and part luck of the draw. The jackpot accumulates from week-to-week until the Ace of Spades is drawn and then the game is over.

Players purchase five dollar tickets and choose a number from 1 to 52.  They are then entered into the draw.  On the night of the draw, organizers select one ticket from the pool of tickets bought.  That winner automatically gets 20% of the money that’s been raised so far.  50% of the funds go to the fundraiser.  The remaining 30% is then added the growing pot.

Winning 20% of raised funds sounds pretty good – but there’s more – the winning ticket holder also gets to open the envelope that corresponds with their chosen number.  If the Ace of Spades is drawn, they win the pot.  If the Ace of Spades is not drawn the process is repeated the following week and each consecutive week until the Ace is caught.

Organizers look forward to the build of excitement in the coming weeks as the pot builds, and more and more winners are announced.

Be sure to get your tickets early and get in the game!

The first draw will be held on Wednesday, February 22nd, 2017 at the Cardinal Legion at 7:00 PM.  Who will be the first to win?  Be at the branch to find out.

You can pick up a copy of the rules of play at the bar.  An electronic copy is also available on the branch’s Facebook group.
