Brockville – On Saturday June 17th Save Ontario Shipwrecks (S.O.S.) 1000 Islands Chapter will be officially opening the new second set of steps into the river at Centeen Park.

In addition there will be two more sculptures added to the Underwater sculpture park off of Centeen Park. Members will also be doing a clean up dive at Hardy Park for the City of Brockville.

There will be a BBQ at Centeen Park following the events.

The official opening of the second set of steps is set for 11:00am and will be dedicated to the late Dave Cooper. Then the two new sculptures will be lowered into the water.

The underwater sculpture park was created in 2014 to attract divers away from the area’s many shipwrecks, to protect them and prolong the life of them as underwater attractions. The underwater park features 25 various sculptures. Ten were added last summer. The two being added on Saturday will bring the number to 27.
