Ottawa – Snow is expected to begin Wednesday morning across much of Central and Eastern Ontario. General snowfall amounts of around 5 to 10 cm are likely, however areas close to Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River may see as much as 10 to 15 cm.
The snow will taper off late in the afternoon or early evening.
Motorists are urged to exercise caution.
The region is on the northwestern edge of a storm system that will mainly impact the American side of the border. At this point, it appears that amounts will remain below the warning criteria of 15 cm or more within 12 hours.
