Brockville – A Special Weather Statement is in effect for our entire region with roughly 5 to 10 centimetres of snow later today followed by a wintry mix Sunday.
Snow is expected to develop across portions of Eastern Ontario later today. The snow should become more widespread later this afternoon and persist into the evening. General snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm are anticipated, with the highest amounts most likely close to the Lake Ontario shoreline as well as near the St. Lawrence River.
There will be a lull in the precipitation later tonight before yet another disturbance moves into the area Sunday morning. Several additional centimetres of snow are possible during the day Sunday. However, there is also a threat of some freezing rain and ice pellets. At this point, it appears that the greatest threat of freezing rain will be near the St. Lawrence River.
