Brockville – The Honourable Bob Runciman was applauded at the September 5th Committee of the Whole meeting. On behalf of Counties Council, Warden Robin Jones charted Mr. Runciman’s more than 40 years in public service and touched on his many accomplishments.
He was the Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for 29 years and served as cabinet minister of six different ministries, including Solicitor-General. Mr. Runciman was Interim Leader of the Opposition and served as Interim Leader of the Progressive Conservatives.
He was appointed to the Canadian Senate in 2010. His political service began with Brockville City Council from 1972 to 1981.
