Brockville – Well the wait is almost over. The Rails to Trails Festival is set to begin tomorrow, Thursday, August 10th in Downtown Brockville.
Preparations have been going on all this week for the opening of the festival at 4:00pm pm Thursday. The Rails to Trails festival, sponsored by the City of Brockville and organized by The Works Events, is two years in the making.
Over the four days the festival will feature the official opening of the Brockville Railway Tunnel, the Carnivale Lune Bleue, Ontario 150 Tour featuring The Westcoast Lumberjack Show, Rhythm of the Nation, a dance and musical performance centred around street artist DJ Creeasian and of course the much anticipated 2 story inflatable rubber duck.
The rubber duck will be set up on Blockhouse Island due to the forecast for the weekend, which means it will stay inflated and lit at night, unless there is severe weather.
