Prescott – The Prescott Fire Department presents the 64th Annual “Light Up The Night” Christmas Parade this Friday, November 17th in the Fort Town.
This will be the first parade of the 2017 season around our region. The parade starts at 7:00pm leaving the parking lot of South Grenville District High School and traveling south on Edward Street to King Street where it turns west on King Street and finsihes up at St. Lawrence Street.
It will feature 6 bands including the Governor Generals Foot Guard and over 80 illuminated floats. In addition the ‘Spirit of Giving” campaign will be collecting non-perishable goods for the local food bank.
Parade participants are asked to arrive no later than 6:15pm if possible.
Prior to the start of the parade is the annual tradition at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 97. Their pre-parade spaghetti dinner runs from 4:30 to 6.pm.
As well, the Prescott Lions will offer hot chocolate at the corner of Edward Street and Henry Street and there will be carolling at the clock tower at 6:30 pm.
