Prescott – The annual Prescott Loyalist Days was offcially opened on Thursday evening at the cenotaph at Fort Wellington.
The 45 minute ceremony featured Town Crier, Lawrence Levere, local dignataries, the ceremonial changing of the flag and a brief history of the Jessop family and founding of Prescott.
As well the Maple Leaf Brass band, played for the crowd after the ceremony.
The 2017 edition of Loyalist Days runs now until Sunday, August 20th in the Fort Town. The American Revolutionary War Re-Enactment and festival is being held on the grounds of Fort Wellington, in the historic Downtown RiverWalk District, Centennial Park and at Kelly’s Beach.
The highlight of the festival will be the American Revolutionary War Re-Enactments scheduled for Saturday & Sunday from 1:00pm to 2:00pm along the Heritage Walking Trail south of the Fort and King Street.
