Prescott – The Grenville County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are urging motorists to pay attention to their speeds, as they drive into the town of Prescott on King Street.
Police say with the warmer weather approaching, pedestrians and cyclists are crossing the streets and sharing the roadways.
Recently, the town of Prescott has placed an electronic speed board on King street, near Sophia street, to draw attention to the drivers speed, and as a reminder to slow down. This area of town becomes particularly busy in the warmer months, as families frequent the beach, pools and parks.
Speeding, distracted driving and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol are all extremely dangerous activities that can cause serious accidents, injuries and even death for those involved.
OPP say if you witness these activities in progress, contact the police at 911 or to report a traffic complaint, not in progress, call the OPP at 1-800-310-112
