Smiths Falls – On Monday, June 55th the Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics begins its journey through the Ottawa Valley.

Officers with the OPP, Ottawa Police Service, Provincial Corrections, RCMP and other law enforcement partners, along with local Special Olympians will be running and walking through communities raising funds for, and awareness of, Special Olympics.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run is the largest source of revenue for Special Olympics Ontario, which supports more than 22,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run will be:

June 5th – Ottawa (11am @ Ottawa City Hall – Laurier Street) Traveling on Elgin, Wellington, Bank and Pretoria Streets

June 6th – Pembroke (10:30 am @ Pembroke Town Hall), Petawawa (11:00 am @ Legion) and Barry’s Bay (2pm @ Credit Union)

June 7th – Renfrew (10:30am @ Legion) & Arnprior (1pm @ LCBO)

June 8th – Perth (9 am @ OPP Detachment), Carleton Place (11am @ OPP Detachment) & Merrickville 1:30pm @ Merrickville Public School)

Runners will have their collection buckets ready for those who wish to make a donation.
