ONTARIO FESTIVAL OF THE SMALL HALLS IS COMING TO BROCKVILLE’S ST. JOHN’S UNITED CHURCH: “Sultans of String”

Brockville – The Ontario Festival of Small Halls is coming to St. John’s United Church in Brockville on Saturday, September 28th when the Sultans of String will perform on the St. John Stage.

JUNO Award nominees, Sultans of String, thrill their audiences with their global sonic tapestry of Spanish Flamenco, Arabic folk, Cuban rhythms, and Gypsy-jazz, celebrating musical fusion and human creativity with warmth and virtuosity. Sultans of String have been riding a wave of success, hitting #1 on world/jazz music charts in North America, and earning eight Canadian Folk Music Award nominations, winning Instrumental and World Group of the Year. They also took home the 2014 SiriusXM Award for World Group, and 1st place in the International Songwriting Competition out of 15,000 entries!

The St. John’s Funraisers team will be offering a limited seating dinner for 75 people before the concert. The menu will feature a honey glazed ham, summer salads and homemade desserts. Ticket sales for the pre-concert dinner will be sold through the church and they are $20 per person..

David Dargie, Communications Director at St. John’s United Church, remarked “The September 28th pre-concert dinner will be the first opportunity for the Brockville and area communities to witness the wonderful renovations to our Church Hall that are now under way courtesy of an Ontario Trillium Foundation grant. Following the dinner, the St. John’s Stage will be on display hosting the world class artistry of the Sultans of Strings. Make sure to get your tickets before they are sold out!”
