Update: Motorcycist Killed in County Road 43 Collision

NORTH GRENVILLE – Members of Grenville County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently at the scene of a two (2) vehicle collision on Highway 43 and Maplestone Drive, North Grenville, Ontario.

Preliminary investigation has indicated that at approximately 8 a.m., a motorcycle was travelling eastbound on Highway 43 when, for reasons under investigation, collided with a tractor trailer travelling westbound.

The driver, Guy LAROUCHE, aged 62, from Gatineau, Quebec (lone occupant) of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The adult driver (lone occupant) of the tractor trailer was uninjured.

Grenville County OPP continue to investigate the collision with the assistance of the OPP Traffic Collision Investigators (TCI).

As the investigation continues, the roads remain closed with detours temporarily in place at County Road 22 and Boundary Road. Anyone with information about this matter or any other matters, are asked to contact the Grenville County OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
