Province wide strike planned for Feb.21

The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO), which represents elementary teachers within the Upper Canada District school board, and the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF), which represents secondary teachers and professional student service personnel within our board, gave notice that their members will be participating in a one-day, province-wide strike next week on Friday, February 21 if no progress is made at the central bargaining table.

At this time, classes, activities and transportation for ALL UCDSB students will be cancelled on Friday, February, 21. Classes will resume as planned on Monday, February 24.

Please make alternative child care arrangements and do not send your child to school on Friday, February 21. If you use a child care facility within one of our schools, be sure to contact your care provider directly with questions.

Updates will continue to be communicated for any additional labour-related updates or changes via email, the UCDSB website and social media.
