Kemptville – The Kemptville Live Music Festival welcomes Juno Award winner Sue Foley to 2017 LineUp. Foley will play the Chez 106.1 stage on Saturday, July 22nd, 2017.
Sue Foley returns to the blues for THE ICE QUEEN, her first solo album in 10 years! Recorded old-school ‘live and in the room,’ it features the likes of Jimmie Vaughan (The Fabulous Thunderbirds, solo artist), Chris ‘Whipper’ Layton (Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble), Charlie Sexton (The Arc Angels, Bob Dylan), Johnny Bradley (Gary Clark Jr. Band), JJ Johnson (Tedeschi Trucks Band) and a who’s who of the legendary Austin, Texas blues scene.
Produced by Mike Flanigin, whose 2015’s THE DRIFTER was highly acclaimed in Rolling Stone, Billboard and on NPR…THE ICE QUEEN is Sue Foley’s 11th solo release, featuring all new original songs and showcasing her singular guitar style. The timing of Sue’s return couldn’t be better, building on the momentum of THE JUNGLE SHOW…her six string excursion into the wild alongside lone star legends Billy F Gibbons and Jimmie Vaughan. The results were fierce, and the sold-out events were definitely the blues guitar highlight of 2016. The anticipation of her new album has grown exponentially ever since.
“Sue Foley is one of the most dangerous guitar slingers walking the planet. She’s SERIOUS!” -Billy F Gibbons (ZZ TOP) The new album (fan-funded on Kickstarter, raising over $36,000), has been recorded and is in the final stages of production, decision on a label will be forthcoming. Festivals and tour dates are being booked, and things are underway for the coming of THE ICE QUEEEN. Stay Tuned!
